It does not always have to be skiing!

Sledding / Tobogganing on the Plose

On your marks! Get set! Go! Tobogganing in South Tyrol is a national sport. Tobogganing is fun for young and old, especially when you can negotiate what is sometimes a rather arduous ascent in comfort by riding the chair lift or similar means of transport.

The Plose ski resort has two toboggan runs where tobogganing enthusiasts are guaranteed to get their money's worth. At 10 kilometres (6.2 miles) in length, the “Rudi Run” is the longest toboggan run in South Tyrol and promises fun for the entire family. The run is an easy one in technical terms, and is usually well covered with natural snow.

The “Rossalm-Kreuztal” toboggan run, on the other hand, is much shorter than “Rudi Run” at only 2.5 kilometres (1.6 miles), which makes it a good choice especially for newcomers.

Tobogganing in South Tyrol is also a fun and popular thing to do at night. “Moonlight tobogganing” is the name of this convivial type of night sport, and it is offered on Mount Plose every Friday where it is known as “Friday Night Fever.” The lifts and chalets will then remain open until 23:00 (11:00 pm).

Cross-Country Skiing

run from Halsl-Loipe to Würzjoch

The beautiful cross-country ski trail leads from the Villnösser intersection to the Würzjoch - even winter hikers get their money's worth here. At the foot of the Geisler Group, right on the border of the Puez Geisler Nature Park, you feel as close to nature as you can be. That's the way sport is fun!

As a stop-off tip, the Halslhütte is absolutely recommended: typical South Tyrolean meals and warming drinks paired with South Tyrolean warmth and not to mention the breathtaking panoramic view - the Messner family is looking forward to your visit!
