Experience the hiking area Plose on foot

The Plose hiking area is known as the gateway to the Dolomite mountain range. Hiking enthusiasts will find both easy hiking tours and other more difficult circular trails, all of them with a view of the giant Dolomites and plenty of refreshing mountain air. "Woody Walk" the enjoyable family hiking trail, is especially popular.

If you are going rock-climbing or hiking in the Dolomites, you should be well prepared: We offer our guests hiking maps for orientation and trekking poles for safe ascents and descents.

Competent information about hiking trails, via ferratas and - most importantly - about the weather in the Eisacktal and in the Dolomites will gladly give you the Schlemmer employees. We will inform you about the difficulty and length of the hiking trails on the Plose and in the surrounding area and recommend you cable lift ride: In good weather, there is a spectacular 360 ° view of the South Tyrolean mountains.

Dolomites High Route (alta via) Nr.2

from Brixen to Feltre

We are the perfect point of departure for the Dolomites High Route Nr. 2 "alta via 2 delle Dolomiti" - we are situated directly on the hiking trail. It is 4,5 h walking time from us until the 2.stage "Schlüterhütte - Rifugio Genova". Begin or finish your hike in our Hotel: so you can relax in our open air panorama Jacuzzi before or after your trip. In the meantime you can let your car on our car park free.

Zirmweg

Altitude difference: 100 m, length 9.5 km, total walking time: 3 to 4 hours

Zirmweg is also known as L'Alta Via di Bressanone. Following a largely flat terrain, it starts at the Kreuztal station at the upper edge of the forest and leads north to Ochsenalm (Einkehr) Buoi (rest stop). The well-maintained Zirmweg trail offers beautiful views of the Brixner Talkessel and is an especially good choice for families.

Freienbühel – Talstation

Altitude difference in the descent: 980 m, length 6 km; Total walking time: 3 hours

The three-hour hike leads from the valley station of the Plose gondola lift on trail 3 downhill to the Wallfahrtskirchlein Freienbühel. From there it goes on the station route 5 to Obermellaun.

Dolomiten-Panoramaweg

Altitude difference: 300m, length 12 km, total walking time: 4 to 5 hours

A breath-taking panoramic view accompanies hikers on the Dolomite Panoramic Trail. The trail leads east from Valcroce station to Rossalm and onto the Gampenwiesen meadows (with rest stop). The first part of the hike (1.5 hours) to Rossalm is also suitable for families with children.

 

Drei-Gipfel-Wanderung

Altitude difference: 800m, length: 13 km; Total walking time: 5 to 6 hours

This long but easy hike on the Plose Gipfelplateau starts at the Telegraph (2,486 m). From there, it leads east to Pfannspitz (2,545 m) and Gabler, which is the tallest peak on this hike (2,576 m). On a clear day, the panoramic view is simply stunning.

Gampenwiesen – Peitlerkofel – Schlütterhütte

Altitude difference in the ascent: 1,200 m, in the descent: 900 m, length 17 km, total walking time: 7 hours

Ambitious hikers can continue along the Dolomite Panoramic Trail at Gampenwiesen, heading toward Halsl (with rest stop) and climb Peitlerkofel over the Peitlerkofel-Scharte. Instead of heading back at this point, why not spend the night in the Refugio Genova chalet situated in the Val di Funes?

Plose – Ochsenalm

Altitude difference: 450 m, length: 10 km, total walking time: 4 to 5 hours

This mountain hike starts at the upper terminus of the Plose gondola lift and leads up to Telegraphen. From there, it leads on to Ochsenalm. We recommend taking the Zirmweg trail (L'Alta Via di Bressanone) on the way back.

Schönjöchl – Platzbon – Talstation

Altitude difference in ascent: 250 m, in descent: 1,240 m, length 6 km, walking time: 4 hours in total

This moderately difficult mountain hike goes from the mountain station of the Plose gondola up to the Schönjöchl and via Platzbon back to the valley station.
